2001 Pontiac Bonneville sle. Starts up on first start of the day. Then after driving I go to start again and it starts then stalls in a few seconds after turning key.I was getting a code 404. I replaced erg valve and maf sensor. Also Replaced fuel filter a few months ago. Every once in awhile I get a message saying check gas cap but I have put new one on. Im Not getting any codes. Starts just fine on the first start of day or long period of sitting ( several hours)any thoughts to this.

Are you getting any security indicators on or flashing when this happens?

No when I turn the key all lights and functions in instrument panel come on. The car starts but dies within a few seconds.. The car starts right up on the firts start of the day ie: in the morning after sitting all night. With no hesitation.. Or if it has sat for several hours.

Make sure there are no security indicators anywhere because a security lockout would act just like that.

If you eliminate security then you have to test fuel pressure when this is happening.
