2001 Mercury Sable it cranks over wont run

I replaces the alternator. Its has 1/4 tank of gas upon starting it cranks over the anti theft light comes on when put key ignition starting the car. When engine cranking over to start gas gauge goes up higher than a 1/4 tank. At this point im having to jump start the car.I read the owners manual about the anti theft and I dont understand to reset it I fallow the instruction. Other problem with that I only have one original key. I haven't try looking for the reset fuel switch in the trunk yet either.I dont whats wrong with the car now. Please can help me out.

There is no reset procedure for the PATS security system. If you are getting security lockout, then you have an issue that has to be repaired in the system and that will require a factory scan tool and extensive understanding of the system.
