I had been driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loreo when the vehicle suddenly died out as if it ran out of gas. After it sat for a few min. I was able to get it to start up again and drove it a few miles where I could park it on private property. I went out a few minutes ago and it did start up. What could be the problem, how can I confirm it, and what advice can you give a first time do-it-yourselfer?
The information I have on the vehicle is ;
2001 Jeep Loredo
4.0 L
4 wheel drive
There is no check engine indicator on the dash, however, there is a systems performance check indicator on the upper mirror area. Don't know of any codes.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The problem is that now it appears to be running fine. I haven't taken it for a drive for fear of it stalling. Would I be checking for fuel pressure while the Jeep is under load.

No you just have to turn the key on running or not should not effect the pressure unless you rev the motor. You have to check on the fuel rail however.
