Its in the rear drivers side. My rear suspension spring is hanging. I cant seem to be able to get a straight answer, is it a lower control arm or a trailing arm that holds the suspension coil spring. I have included a picture. Thank you

No to the trailing arm. The coil is mounted on a unit similar to a lower control arm. If I am seeing correctly, it has rusted and broken. Is that correct?

Yes that is true it has rusted and broken off. I dont want to move the car until I can find a price and part for it. It is really hard to tell someone on the phone. So is this piece what they call a rear shock knuckle or do I ask for a control arm. Thank you so much for your reply.

From what I can see in the pic, it is the control arm. Is the top of the coil spring mounted in a stationary position so it can't move? I can see the bottom of the shock, but I can't tell if it is broken too.
