Starting problems

2001 GMC Jimmy.225000 miles. At times ignition will not turn over until you turn steering wheel ALL the way to left (usually) and hold it. Also minor leaks I think transmission fluid but it occured ONLY after station capped off & added Lusas transmiss.

Are you saying it cranks good but won't start, or it won't even crank? May need to check feed to and from ignition switch?

Not sure about the leak, you need to be sure where it is coming from?

It won't crank at all. No sound. Until you turn & hold the steering wheel all the way over. Real hard. Sometimes it takes several tries to find the "right"place

Do the dash lites work when you turn key on, without moving the wheel? I'd have to check feed to and from the ignition switch. The yellow wire from ignition switch should carry voltage to crank fuse, key in the crank position. Hopefully only one yellow wire, you need to check for voltage.
