There's something wrong with my 01 chevy silverado. It is making a very loud rumbly noise from the rear end (it sounds like I ran something over and its stuck underneath even though I didn't) and the RPM is really high although I can't accelerate higher than 35 mph. Are you familiar with this?

You have to climb under trk and visually inspect, u-joints, any guards or dust shield rubbing on wheels, hubs, Raise rear of trk with jack and check for loose lug nuts or movement of axle shafts(in / out/ wobble) if nothing can be found, take into repair shop for internal inspection.

You mentioned that the RPM's go up real high. Are you sure the transmission isn't slipping?
