Takes lots of RPM to Move truck

1993 chevy truck 120,000 manual tranny shifts into gear fine but when clutch is let out it takes about 3000 rpm to make truck go and smells like something is burning please help! Thanks

The clutch is slipping big time

You need a new clutch assembly.

Yup, she's right. Your clutch is definitely fried. Have youever had the clutch replaced in this truck before? If not, you've gotten above-average service life out of the existing one.

Clutches are just like brakes - they are "wear" items that do need replacing periodically.
