2001 Chevrolet S-10 engine wants to stall

Ok So I Just Recently Replaced The temp Sensor ON My Truck And Today It Started Acting Funny The Temp gauge WaSnt Reading Properly So I Giggled The Wire Now It's Fine So Far But It Starting To Act Like It Wants To Die And Then Idles High On Next Start Motor Was Rebuilt About 45,000 Miles Ago No Check Engine Light On Either Any Ideas What Might Be The Issue?

There should be two temp sensor one for the gauge one for the computer the for the gauge only operates the gauge the one for the computer will effect how the engine runs try to find the one for the computer might fix your problem

CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG sgtsasser13 (I'M MORE INTO CARURETED STUFF. JEEPS AND OLDER FORDS)

I LOOKED FOR YOU A DIAGRAM IN "MITCHELL I". BOTH DO NOT SHOW THE "SENDER". THEY DO SHOW THE "ECT" SENSOR. WHICH IS THE ONE FOR THE COMPUTER, NOT THE GAUGE. THIS ONE IS SHOWN IN BOTH "DIFFERENT ENGINE" DIAGRAMS

SO. YOU GOTTA LOOK FOR THE OTHER ONE

MANY TIMES AT THE PARTS STORE. THE PARTS GUY MAY GIVE YOU THE WRONG ONE

. TO BE FAIR, WHEN THE PARTS GUY ASKS, "WHICH SENSOR". AND THE CUSTOMER WAS ONLY AWARE OF ONE. TERMS SUCH AS "TEMPERATURE" COUPLED WITH "THINGEE" AND "DO-LOLLY" AND "ET CETERA". OUT OF THE CUSTOMERS MOUTH (WHO MAY BE CONFUSED FROM THE GIT-GO) MAY AID IN GETTING THE WRONG SENSOR TOO!

WITHOUT YOUR INFO.I GRABBED A DIAGRAM FOR THE "2.2L" AND THE "4.3L"

2) 4.3

LET US KNOW IF THIS HELPS

Ok See That Makes More Sense No Offense But The Other Guy Didn't Even Know What Motor Size It's A 4.3 V6 I'm A Mechanic Myself But Not So Good With Diagnostics OR Trouble Shooting The Temp Sensor I changed Was On The Left Side By The Exhaust Ever Since I Giggled The harness ItStopped Acting Up Autozone Offered Me A Pig Tail Which I Should Have Bought But Didn't
