Can a single bad injector triple full consumption on 01 blazer?
01 blazer 200000+ miles. Had a bad fuel pump and slight miss when I bought it. Replace the fuel pump ran ok for 6 months. Changed the plugs, wires and cap didn't change the miss. A week ago started idleing rough and tripled fuel consumption. After 3000 rpm smoths out and seems to run right. Had the codes read it popped up 10+. Disconected the batt. And now only 1 code #6 injector. Ive been told could be check valves in the exhaust and 02 sencor. A bad injector would explain the miss. Is it possible that it went totaly bad and is dumping fuel now. When I first start it I smell fuel. It runs ok for a few minutes but as it warms it gets worse. The idle drops to about 500 rpms. If I drive it at 2500 rpms and up it smooths out and seems to run ok till I stop at the light. But is still sucking down fuel. There is a plastic "t" that connects both sides of the exhaust to the smog pump. It has burned it out twice now.I am broke and need some more advice as to where to go. Can't afford to take it the shop right now. But can replace parts myself. And advice would help thanx!

Could very well be the injector is bad. That engine uses a central port unit that has one injector head with 6 small poppet nozzles. They are a known failure item. The poppets stick open OR the lines inside the intake split. You can get a rebuilt unit from Lindertech if needed.
