I have a 2001 cadillac deville 125,000 mile. It over heats, I changed the water pump, thermostat, cap and radiator. The car has no water in the oil nor it is coming out of the mufflers. It will build high pressure so bad it made a hole in the upper rediator hose. The funny thing is the lower hose will not get hot until I turn the car off when it is hot. If I drive it with the cap half open it will not over heat, but when it is closed it will build pressure. I pressure tested the engine and were no leaks. I don't loss any antifreeze, and the radiator stays cold, I drained the air from the engine from the upper small hose that does to the resevor with no luck do I just need anothe engine? Please help.

It sounds like the thermostat may be faulty, especially if the lower hose fails to get warm. What was the symptom before all the parts were replaced? Is it different now then prior to repairs? I would advise if you are having overheat problems, to have the cooling system tested for the presence of combustion gases. It could have an internal leak that was part of an original overheat, or created by being overheated.

Thank you guys, original problem was over heating. I took the throstate completly out and still over heated and bottom hose was still cool. I'm taking the engine out right now (got a used one for $900) and will have the other one back in it within a couple of days. Thanks for the help
