My 2001 audi a6 is running hot by the temp gauge and warning light in car. But I can open hood and remove coolant cap and stick my finger in with out getting burned. I have had my heads, thermostat, water pump all changed. My fan also comes on. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need to have the engine coolant temperature sensor/guage switch check could also be the gauge itself-if you can stick your pinky inside the radiator-maybe its running cold due to an open thermostat or water pump failure-this is an interesting problem.
