2000 Volkswagen Golf engine cranks but dont start

My engine cranks over but wont start this is the second time it has happend. Both times have been on real hot days. The first time it started after cranking it for a while. This time it didnt I took the gas cap off just in case it was vapor locked I can here the fuel pump kick on

You will have to check fuel pressure, spark and injector pulse when it wont start and run a diagnostic scan as well to see if there are any set fault codes, you can still have code with no check light on.
