Hi sounds like you have a vacum leak possibly a intake gasket leaking or base gasket on throttle bore

Just to add to this one I have very rarely seen bad throttle position sensors go bad on those cars. The most common things I have seen on those cars is a bad coolant temp sensor they go bad all the time. They cause running conditions no starts etc. When they go bad they read way to cold of actual coolant temp. So when the coolant gets hot they run too rich way too much fuel. Also inspect the inside of the connector if the terminals are blue or green instead of silver replace the connector. The sensors are only 10 and very easy to change. Do you have a multimeter to do some testing? Also I have seen clogged cats do that when they get hot they have much less flow when they go bad. Also check the fuel pressure but I would start with the coolant temp sensor thats what I would check first.
