Why did my truck not start out of nowhere?

I have a nissan frontier 00, which just hit 200,000 miles last week. I am a college student and go from school to work and home basically everyday. I keep up with it, with oil and spark plug changes, which were both changed recently. I went to work earlier, it was working just fine, and when I got off my truck wouldn't start. It wanted to start, but nothing. All the electrical works, and my friend tried to give me a jump and nothing. So I believe it is not the battery, or the alternator. I believe it is the fuel pump. I basically need to confirm this. What do you guys think it is? If not the fuel pump.

So it cranks over but dont quite catch? Put some gas into intake and see if it fires. When you turn key to on, do you here pump run for a second or 2?

Yes exactly, and that would be something I would have to do in the morning. I went outside and turned the key on it though, but I heard no pump. One more thing, the engine light turned on about 2 months ago. Got it checked, was told it was the knock sensors for the truck and that they should last a bit longer. Could that have anything to do with it?

Alright. There is basically nothing else I can tell you about it unfortunately. I'm still going to try and put some gas into the intake to see what happens. So lets say it fires, what could it be then? And if it doesn't?

If it fires up then fuel delivery is the problem. If pump does not run then we find out why. If it does run then we find out if pressure is present and if so we check injection for fault.
