2000 Nissan Altima service engine light came on and my car started jerking a little

I have a 2000 nissan altima gxe. On yesterday my service engine light came on and my car started jerking a little. Within minutes my car could only drive 20 miles up a hill and the service engine light starting blinking on and off. Can you tell what the problem may be. The car is park for now.

The blinking is a catalytic converter warning. Is there an auto store nearby you can get trouble codes read? You probably have a bad spark plug coil, fairly common failure on these cars.
