2000 Mercury Sable Heater

The heater in my 2000 mercury sable works most of the time. But lately it has times when it does not work. The car will be at normal op temp but no heat. The blower still works. What could be the issue? And yes I have the heat turned on to hottest setting

Could have a plugged heater core. You need to flush out the heater core by taking off both of the heater hoses and running water through the heater core both ways to try to clean it out.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
