Vehicle is equiped with an electronic controled heating and airconditiong system. The system stays in constant high heat, I can not get the AC system to come on when slecting any AC position. Bloer fan works good in all speeds. I can controle where air is sent, such as floor, panel, etc. There is a temp control switch on the steering wheel that allows up or down of temp. Select lowest temp. And control to max air, still get high heat. With system completley off, can feel warm air comming from windshield defrosters area.

System has self diagnostics, check if there are any trouble codes.

SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
EATC module self-diagnostic test will detect problems in system control functions. It will display hard DTCs and intermittent DTCs during system operation. Self-test can be initiated at any time. Normal operation of system will stop when self-test is activated.

NOTE: If EATC module cannot be accessed by NGS tester, go to
TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH EATC MODULE. Or, if EATC module self-diagnostic test will not detect concerns associated with DLC messages, an NGS tester will be needed to retrieve these messages.

ENTERING SELF-DIAGNOSTICS

1. Ensure in-car temperature is between 40-90°F (4-32°C). Simultaneously depress OFF and FLOOR buttons, then press AUTOMATIC button within 2 seconds. Display will show a pulse tracer going around center of the display window for up to 30 seconds while test is running. Record all DTCs displayed.

2. If DTCs are displayed, perform test indicated. See EATC SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TEST CODE INDEX table. If no DTCs are displayed, diagnose by symptom. Go to SYMPTOM INDEX under SYMPTOM TESTS.

EXITING SELF-DIAGNOSTICS

1. To exit self-diagnostics while retaining DTCs, depress Blue (cooler) temperature button. The EATC module will retain all DTCs, exit self-diagnostics and turn system off (display blank).

2. To exit self-diagnostics and clear DTCs, press DEFROST button on control panel. Display will show "888" for one second, then will go blank and all DTCs will be cleared. Any intermittent DTCs will be deleted after 80 ignition on-off cycles after condition occurs.

NOTE:
Always exit self-diagnostic test before powering system down. Intermittent DTCs will delete after 80 ignition switch ON cycles after intermittent condition occurs.

Is the A/C compressor engaged during this time?
