On my car what dose the auto lamp do? Dose it have anything to do with my headlights?

The autolamp turn on the headlight when a sensor senses that it is dark outside.

That should not be a fault with the auto lights.
When you turn the headlights on, they should work by themselves.

If the autolamps are not functioning when switched to that position, then you need to check the circuit, otherwise you need to check the headlight system.

Start by checking the headlinght bulbs and fuses.
