I have the GLE model. When I press the gas all the way my rpm goes up to 4,000 and I do not accelerate or lose speed just stays at a constant speed and if I do it from a stop, my car accelerates slow. But in fast or normal traffic my car accelerates fine and fast the problem is when I floor it. I replaced the transmission fluid as I do every 20,000 miles and I put Lucas transmission fix to condition it. I also changed the oil as I do very 3,000 to 5,000 miles and replaced the oil filter. I put new coils and sparks in, and I replaced the air filter. I also replaced the valve cover gasket even though I know that has nothing to do with it I thought I should throw it out there. I put Lucas high mileage fuel treatment and sea foam. I cleaned the fuel injectors and carburetor. It starts fine and idles fine with no miss fires. I do not have any lights on and I do not get any codes. And no where in my car has a leak. If anyone has any advice or knowledge on what the problem and fix is please let me know it is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I am Danny.
It does seem to sound like you might be having some transmission slippage issue. It sounds like you are taking very good care of the vehicle maintenance wise, but, is this the original transmission? With time some of the friction material on the clutch plates inside the transmission is lost and drained when serviced. Over time slight slippage may occur. People who notice drastic change are when they neglect/do not service the transmission and the fluid becomes burnt and they lose the material all together and the transmission fails. That is why it is recommended that burnt fluid/brown color is to not be changed because slippage will become immediate due to friction material loss. When additives are added they usually do more damage than good. They are usually added as a band-aid knowing the end is coming soon. Hope this helps and please feel free to ask any further questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

I always change the fluid before it turns to that brown, blackish color, is there anyway to fix this slipping issue?

Hello again.
Is that the original transmission with 260,000 miles on it?

Yes, but never had any trouble with it before. I can press the gas pedal down significantly and still accelerates really fast it is just “flooring it” makes it behave in a strange manner as I described above.

Hello again.
Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done for transmission slippage at this point nor any kind of adjustment. Just keep up with the services and hope for the best. To remedy slippage with that much mileage will have to be a transmission rebuild. Hope this helps and again thanks for using 2CarPros.

I went for a drive today and I tested it. It does not slip at all until the pedal hits the floor. But when I barely lift it off the floor it goes perfectly fine. Just thought I should throw it out there.

Hello again.
It will be more noticeable under load. Fortunately, you have been taking good care of your vehicle so let's hope there is still a lot of time left before it gets worse. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.
