Are there any other symptoms with this? Such as power loss, engine performance problems, transmission problems?

Where is the grinding noise coming from. Front end. Rear end? Can you feel it in the steering wheel or in the pedals or seat. Does vehicle pull one way or the other on a heavy stomp?
