Start and cut off

1999 vw golf 4 gti starts & cuts offf immediatly no idle at all. Agents failed to find fault and are guessing, the conclusion is the instrument cluster is faulty. The car fan was not working recently & the auto election connected I prusume the air con fans &now this occured: is this a major problem. Ta

Do you have a check engine light prior to this problem

Check the fuel pressure with a gauge if its within specs-start here

No engine lite came on but the battery terminals were disconnected regularly because some auto electrician jippod the air con fan switch because the main fan was not working & the new move ran down the battery.A second hand cluster is currently fitted we gonna wait & see what gives & thanks for response

Don't let people get your car all jacked up. Undo what they did with the fans and see if it makes a difference. Coulda been the immobilizer.
