1999 Grand Prix, car was chugging. Engine light came on. Diagnoistic machine at OK Tire showed transmission problem. They think its a torque converter issue and recommend going to transmission mechanic. Is car safe for my daughter to drive home 70 miles from colege so that we can have our trusted local mechanic look at it. It is driving fine right now.

First, I need to know what code they found. If the vehicle is chugging, I wouldn't recommend driving it 70 miles until I know what they found.

Ask them if they still have the code they found when the computer was scanned.
