Blower motor not working

The blower motor is not running at all. I replaced the blower and the resistor and still nothing. What else can I check? Keep in mind it does not blow air on either setting. It just plain does not work. It was working the night before and I could smell something burning through the vent. Then the next day it didn't work at all.

The only other two components in the system are the blower motor relay near rear of engine compartment and the climate control selector unit. Remove climate control unit and check wiring to it. Very common for wring to get hot and melt connectors to back of control unit.

Also check instrument panel fuse block (usually under left side of dash) for blown fuse 5D, 25 amps. Could have blown with too much current draw from any one of the components.

I checked the fuse and it looks good. I also checked the back of the climate control selector and I did not see anything that was melted. Wires looked good. Do you know if this vehicle has a blower motor control module? I read online that it could cause this issue. Not specifically for this car though so idk.

Your car does not have that. You can also check a large maxi fuse in the engine compartment fuse block. Look for a 30 amp fuse marked as for A/C.

I have a 1997 Oldsmobile 88, for some reason it will not blow on hi setting. Changed blower resistor. I even changed the whole climate control panel. It will work on all settings except for the hi speed. Any tips?

The most common problem is the blower resistor itself. You need to verify power to the resistor before assuming it is bad.
