Oil light

I have a 99 c230 Kompressor Mercedes and my oil light came on I added oil and before I can get 2 miles the light is on again. It appears that I have an oil leak should I add oil to the car while it has been sitting for a while or let it run cut it off and then add oil?

You need to confirm if it's actually leaking. If not, check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and/or engine bearing.
