The engine will crank but won't start. Battery is good, gets fire (new plugs), gets fuel (new fuel pump), alternator tested OK, ignition module tested OK, sprayed ether into the intake and still doesn't act like it wants to start, will just keep turning over, new timing belt. The engine is not the original. The engine transmission and transfer case is from another trooper. Ran fine for a week and then bogged out and hasn't started since. I am and everyone else i've asked are simply puzzled. I've had it in 2 different shops and no one can tell me why it won't start or get it started.

Ok i'll be honest I haven't gotten a noid light, for one because I have to take off the whole intake to get to them and two I don't think it is a fuel problem because, all the plugs have fuel on them, and even shooting it with ether, it doesn't want to even try to start.

My 1992 Isuzu Trooper will not start. It happened to my wife a few days ago that the Trooper would not start, then it did start after she cranked it over a few times. The next morning, however, it did not start, and it has not started. It will turn over, but it will not fire. A repair shop suggested that the timing belt may need to be replaced. Sounds expensive for such an old vehicle.

Check to see if you have spark take a plug wire off stick a plug on hold to block crank.
See if fuel is present
If you have fuel, fire & compression see should run.
Is it turning over faster than normal this is sign of belt problem.
Let me know

Thanks for the fast response!

There's a spark, and it doesn't sound like it's cranking over faster.

What about fuel? Spray carb cleaner into intake see if it fires. If it does fuel delivery is the problem.
