When I am driving all of a sudden my car will start shutting down and I pull to the side of the road and it just dies, and about 10 mins later it will start back up again, now it is doing it more frequently. It is a 99 honda civic, and I have no idea what is wrong with it, please help. People say it might be the alternator, but I do not know and before I take it in I was just wanting another opinion.

If it is an alternator problem, you most probably would not be able to restart.

When engine stalled, you need to check what is missing causing the nonstartting.

Do the dash indicator lights turn on when engine stalled? If not you have a faulty ignition switch.
