starter is going bad,solid click..last night tranny had loss of power,i had to really step on the gas for it to gradually build up speed..is the loss of power related to the bad starter? This vehicle is a 1999 chevy venture minivan.

try hitting starter on body while someone cranks it if it starts it's a bad starter. scan for codes and check fuel pressure for other.

Also check the transmission fluid. not only chekc the fluid level but check the color and smell of the fluid. It should be RED. It shouldn't smell burnt.
