I have a 1999 Chevy Astro Van. The analyzer says "Catalyst System Insufficiency Below Threshold Bank 1." If you leave van sit for 3 days, it cracks and backfires when it trys to start. Sometimes you almost have to grind the battery dead to before it will start. What would that readout mean?

That's most likely a worn out Converter. I doubt it's plugged up because in order to set that code, the rear 0/2 has to mirror the front 0/2 and that won't happen if it's clogged. It's likely just not chemically doing the job any more.
