How do you change power steering pump

1. Remove serpentine belt. Remove or reposition,  as necessary,  coolant reservoir,  idler pulley,  power steering pump pulley and strut housing tie bar. See POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY.
2. Disconnect pressure and return lines from pump,  and plug all openings. On vehicles with pump adapter,  disconnect return line from pump adapter using Quick Connect Separator (J 36391). On all vehicles,
remove pump mounting bolts. Remove pump adapter (if equipped). Remove pump.
3. To install,  reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed hydraulic system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING under LUBRICATION.

There is a special tool to remove teh pulley and reinstall it. This may need to be taken off before removing pump. Autoparts store may have the tool available.
