Need to fix is prob asap

My acura cl 1999 has been cutting of when driving so ckecked the codes and it gave me these code 02 sensor heater. Circuit malfunction.(Bank 1 sensor 2) what dose this mean and what can I do to fix it

That sensor is not causing your performance issues. What are the exact numbers being stored.

The 02 sensor can cause performances issues. It can cause intermittent non or poor response from throttle openings.

I disagree. The downstream sensor is an Converter monitor only and has no effect on engine performance.

I have personal experience in this problem. Spent a week trying to find the problem, thinking it is not the cause. After replacement of the sensor, the problem was fixed. Had 3 similar case from friends of mine.

The downstream sensors are not engineered to play any part in fuel mixture decisions. That's not saying that a defect in one couldn't somehow effect the upstream 0/2 circuits through some kind of short circuit but they do not intentionally play any part in engine performance.

It is not the fuel mixture decision that is causing the problem. Seems the fault is confusing the PCM.

Sometimes we never know what and how the PCM reads the situation.

Logic sometimes have to be thrown out of the window.
