engine cooling and exhaust

Recently I had to change last part of exhaust pipe and car started to overheat more quickly and you can see smoke coming out from tail pipe. Can this be because job was not done professionally.

The catalytic converter could have been damaged and collapsed in on itself. Not very likely though. I am giving you a diagnostic for your situation. just use the link below;
