1998 Saturn reaches mid temp then dies. Bad electrical smell

1998 saturn sc1 quits running one temp gauge reaches halway. Bad electrical smell. Replaced the fuel pump fuse, didnt work. What is it?

So where and when is the smell happening?Also when it dies will it restart or do you have to wait for it to start?Have you checked for spark when it die's?

What fuel pump sensor did you replace?Also does the radiator fan come on with the a/c if the a/c work's?

Smell gradually happens as car heats up. I have to wait for the car to cool down for it to start again, it will try to crank but no luck until it has cooled. Yes I have not seen any sparks. I replaced the fuel pump sensor on the passenger side ( in middle) fuse box inside the car.

Oh so you replaced the fuel pump relay.I was asking if the engine had spark when it didn't start?Also does the radiator fan work with the a/c on if the a/c works?
