My temperture gauge went out on my car. I replaced the sending unit, and it still didn't work. A few times though it worked from time to time though. Now when I start the car, the needle moves a little bit, then goes back down. Now my battery is having a dain, and I want to know if the short in my gauge would cause this, and how can I fix this. Thank you

The drain I would say is a defferent issue then the gauge. As far as the drain goes I would have the battery tested make sure the battery cables are clean and tight and also have the alternator tested. As far as the gauge goes what color were the wires going to the sensor you changed?

The colors to the sensor are yellow, on one side, brown on the other side.

Your first step is to get the computer scanned for codes so we can see if there is any codes to follow to your problem. Let me know the exact code numbers if you have any.
