The car at times will not start. What could most likely be the problem?

I'll turn the key, the lights will come on but no noise. Then, when I turn the key again, the car starts fine. I had the battery tested, and came out normal. But, the first start after re-installing the batter, was a hesitated crank. Maybe half a second hesitation, instead of immediate, like normal. I was going to crawl under, and listen for noise from the starter. But, If I hear nothing happening, what else should I check? Thank you for your help. I hope to hear from you soon.

**No crank at all/nothing/nada when key is engage to starting position

Could be a blown fusible link, the starter, starter relay, clutch switch/park and neutral switch/transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery condition and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

I ran into a similar situation where my Intrigue wouldn't start at random times. At later times with the car, I noticed the security light would pop on then shortly afterward I would have problems starting the car. Turns out that the security system was malfunctioning and is attached to the key cylinder. Since replacing the key cyclinder, no more starting problems. If you are having this issue, you probably need to look into this.
