Unable to move from 1st gear to nutral, or any other gear even with the ignition switched off. When I try to start the engine with the clutch depressed, the car just jumps forward.

It sounds like the clutch is not dis-engaging enough. You might have air in the system. Check the fluid level on the clutch master cylinder. Then have the system flushed and bled by a repair shop.
