Car cuts off during driving

I just replaced my car battery this morning, as well as added new oil to it since the oil light turned on. Now, when I drive slowly, my car will show my bashboard lights and will try to lock my steering wheel right before cutting off. Turning the car back on is no problem. What's wrong? Mitsubishi Galant '98

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will scan it for free. As far as the engine idle, check for vacuum leaks and the idle air control valve.

Please remember, if your oil light is coming on, you are very low on oil. Try to avoid allowing it to get that low and keep the oil changed on a regular basis. If it gets too low, you will end up with internal engine damage.
