If the lttile wire at the start is hot with the key in the on position, then the starter is bad

Ok, could be the neutral safety switch or the ignition switch that is causing this.

Would the ignition switch cause it not to have spark to?

Possible but there are many other reasons for no spark. The ignition switch is way down the list

Well on tuesday the black and yellow wire to the distributor did not have power and no it has power and it wont crank now.
