My F-150 Ford Pick-up truck Engine rough-idles. When the engine gets hot, it pops like a gun from the exhaust tail pipe. When the engine is put off, a lot of knocking noise as though coming from a carpenter's workshop underneath the engine for about 3 minutes. The vacuum feed hose is completely missing and a few others are deteriorated. My mechanic does not understand the arrangement of the hoses and sensors. I need a diagrammatic solution to this problem to help my mechanic who doesn't understand much.

To start with, I think you need a new mechanic who can help you instead of you doing his work.
With that said, I would start with a compression test as it sounds like you may have a bad cylinder. Start with basics before jumping into anything else.
