When start in morning it has a tendicy to stall, like choke isnt working. Loss of power sluggish. Dont stall while driving, but seems like it wants too, seems to diesel before shifting. All fluids are good.I also here a vacume sound when I apply the brakes. Brakes work good thou? Does your gas cap have to fit proper (seal). Mine dont fit tight, would that affect anything? Please help if can. Ty Greg

-Your gas cap has to fit properly to seal-Have the exhaust system checked for restriction and also the fuel pressure

Would the pressure regulator be a canidate if so how would you know if it was that and not fuel pump? In the morning smoke does come out exhaust, how do I check to see if exhaust is bad? Also the thing that holds my oil filter is leaking, where the hoses enter. What is that called anyway? Weird contraption. First time ford owner all new to me. Lol ty. Greg

A fuel pressure gauge will tell if there's a problem with the FPR, Fuel filter and pump-for the exhaust use a pressure gauge to check the exhaust system for excessive backpressure-I recommend you just bring the vehicle in and have it further checked out by a pro.
