I have 98 chev lumina, I tested battery, every time I try starting I only get one click sound, then nothing. Would it be the starter, usually as with my nova. I got several clicks sound. Or possible fuse?

I had driven all day with several stops doing errands, upon my last stop, car wouldn't do anything, without warnings, however the check engine light been on for several months.

The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal should be hot with the key in the crank position. If it isn't hot/good voltage, I don't think your starter is the problem.

You could use a starter button on the starter solenoid, maybe the leads are long enough to get you out from under the vehicle. Make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set. Block the wheels if needed.
