Brake lights would do a quick flash and go out. Replaced brake light switch. Now sometimes when you press break pedal lightly, brake lights work, but if you push hard on the brake they go out. If step quickly on the brake pedal, the lights will not go on. Right tail light is a bit touchy. Lights sockets were quite rusted. Cleaned and lights do work if bulbs are set correctly. Could this be a ground issue, bad light component or something else. All fuses are good. Hazards work, and so do turn signals.

Ground was rusted. Drilled it out and drilled new hole in frame and reattached it after brushing it so it showed metal. Replaced right rear circuit panel. Still have same problem, that break lights go out when you push hard on the break pedal. If you push lightly, they come on, then go off.

When checking brake light switch, be sure to check short pigtail from switch to harness for broken wires. Harnes is stationary and switch moves with the brake pedal hinging this short pigtail. Also check to see if high mount light goes out if it doesn't then it may be a bad turn signal switch
