1997 Toyota Corolla Transmission

The piece inside the differential on my car has broke its the piece that locks the axle in would I have to buy a whole new differential or could u replace the piece in side some have said its called a spider gear but I'm not sure

See pic arrows point out spider gears, trouble is that most places will only do a complete trans rebuild to warranty it because they have no idea if there is other damage in tans. And you won't find that out until trans is apart.

I'm not sure all I know is that the piece that axle locks on inside transmission it looks like a gear broke inside the differential?

The pic is what YOU described like I said most places will not fix that without doing a completer rebuild of trans to warranty it.
