Engine running rough

97 camry all of a sudden running rough and check engine light came on

The first thing you need to do is have the computer scanned. If the check engine light is on, the computer has a trouble code stored in it. What to do is take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free. Once you get the code, let me know what it is so I can further advise you.
