Ok, let me first say thanks for this being free! Heres my problem. I put gas in the other day when I was low, 4 miles down the road my car dies on me. I try to start a few times and its low idle struggling to not die, so it keeps doing this with random high 3500 rpm idles, when you give it gas it dies very quickly until you let of the pedle. No matter how lightly you press the pedle it dies. Car has 78000 miles on it and its a 97 saturn. Thanks! Also when its wanting to die but fighting to keep up the engine shakes extremely hard like a few inches each direction HARD

To add on this answer which is good information to start with. The most common place's for that car to leak vacuum is the short hose that goes from the intake to pcv. Also the intake gasket at cylinder 1 intake port. If you also have a code p0301 cylinder 1 miss fire then I would really look at that intake gasket.

Is that a common problem with saturns or just any vehicle? My friend had a saturn but it was a hatchback, he had the same problem he said something about cleaning off a part, and replacing the silicon or something. Sorry I know these details are vague, not good on memory. Do you mean the black hoze about a foot long from the top of the engine to were the vaccum hose connects?

Alright so what code do you have? Please give exact code number's. It kinda sound's like you could have a plugged cat cause the running issue's after four mile's and dieing. Let's start with the code's and go from there.
