Hello,

This is not recommended to punch out the internals of a catalytic converter.
It is also illegal to do so.
We cannot recommend this procedure.

Also, it will trigger the check engine light to stay on. This can impact the air fuel ratio and the engine can run rough. It could also have other drivability issues.

The best option is to replace the defective catalytic converter that meets the federal and state requirements and standards.
