1997 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 liter mileage: 48,000. When replacing the engine coolant as suggested by the owners manual at 48,000 miles, I simply drain the old coolant from the bottom plug from the radiator then add new coolant into radiator. How much coolant and how much water should I add?

In addition to the links above here are the instructions from the manual that will help with this. There is no spec on how much you will need to add back in as they are not sure how much will actually drain out of the engine when you are draining just the radiator so they basically tell you to fill the radiator back up and then run the engine until it is hot and keep the radiator topped off.

Here is a guide that will help on a similar Ford engine:

Let us know if you have other questions. Thanks
