Engine has died and won't restart

97 TAURUS, STARTED RIGHT UP, PUT IT IN REVERSE, HAD TO PUT IT IN DRIVE (GETTING STUCK IN SNOW) AND IT DIED AND WONT START LAST WEEKEND I WAS BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND WHEEL STARTED SPINNING (ON ICE) (DIDNT GET BUT THE DISTANCE OF 4 STEPS), PUT ON THE BRAKES, PUT IT IN DRIVE, GAVE IT A LITTLE GAS AND CAR DIED. IT HASN'T STARTED SINCE. TOOK STARTER IN NEXT MORNING TO HAVE IT TESTED AND TOLD IT WAS BAD BUT SILENOID WAS GOOD SO I REPLACED IT ALL AND iT STILL WONT START. I NEED HELP. ITS A 97 fORD tAURUS 6 CYLINDER. SOMEBODY SAID THE MOTOR MIGHT HAVE SEIZED BUT IT WASNT RUNNING BUT 10 MINUTES AT THE MOST. PLEASE SOMEBODY GIVE ME SOME IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO AND HOW MOTOR COULD SEIZE THAT QUICK. PLEASE

Using a large ratchet, see if you can turn the crank shaft pulley to determine if it is locked up. Let me know what you find.

When tried to restart it the belt and engine turned a little then quit and hasnt turned since.

Are you able to turn the engine by hand? (Make sure the key is off)

No but my cousin towed it to the shop he works at, should know problem soon. Im wondering about the camshaft synchronizer or timing. If theres anything else we should look at please let me know. I wll post problem when I find out

Check the crank sensor for sure. My concern is the engine. Why do you think it could be locked? Were you spinning the wheels that hard that it may have locked? That is why I asked if you could turn the engine by hand.

I backed up the length of us taking 2 steps and my rear tire started spinning on ice so I then put it in drive and it died. I sstarted it and thats when my cousin seen the belt and engine turn and then it wouldnt turn anymore or start

You need to start by checking to make sure the battery is good, you have good connections at the starter. The starter itself could be bad.
