1997 dodge stratus will not start, radio does not play, anti-theft device does not flash. A new battery was installed after the problem appeared. The lights work and the control panel lights up when you turn on the ignition. There is no noise from the starter when you turn on the ignition. I do not know if it is the anti-theft device or a bad ignition switch is the cause of the problem. I checked all of the fuses and they are good. I followed the Vesco Anti-theft device hidden override but that did nothing. What should I do?

Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. If there is no power, check the starter relay, and work your way back to the switch. If there is power, the starter sounds bad. Remove it and have it bench tested at a parts store.
