I have a 97 V6 dakota. I noticed a couple of weeks ago corrosion on the battery posts.I cleaned with a wire brush and baking soda/water. Yesterday I noticed it had come back. I went and bought felt rings for the battery post and cleaned the posts. Now the truck cranks but won't start. Had the battery checked and was told it was bad, (only 1/3 of the cranking amps it should have). Put in the new battery, but still cranks, but won't start. Feel like it's got to be something with the battery cables, since that is the only thing I moved around. Not sure what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank while you visually check for spark at the plugs. Do the dash lites come on when you turn the key? Are there any applicable mil codes? The fuse box has good voltage? I can't rule out your battery cables, at the moment.
