Leaking coolant

My 1997 Cadillac Deville has been leaking coolant. Taken it to shop 4 times-changed water pump belt--leakage continued--all warning lights came on 2 weeks ago, engine overheated, check coolant, turn off engine, etc. Had it towed. Changed water pump. Still, could an improper alignment of coolant reservoir cap cause overflow and leakage?

If the coolant jug is over flowing. You need to check for blown head gaskets. Go to the parts store and they have the tester all you need is the buy the fluid for under 10$. It checks for combustion leaking into the cylinders.
